You write by sitting down and writing. There’s no particular time or place—you suit yourself, your nature. How one works, assuming he’s disciplined, doesn’t matter.

You really can't dispute t that quote. My own research and experience indicates that "you gotta do the time". There are many, many resources out there to help people become better writers, but unless you spend the time fishing words out of the ether and commit them to paper or screen, you won't become a writer, let alone a better writer.
